City Announces 2002 Leaf
Pick-Up Schedule
10-22-02
The Maquoketa Public Works Department will be
performing its annual Fall Leaf Pick-Up on the following dates,
weather permitting:
November 11-14: East
Half of Town (Main St. to Jacobson Drive.) Please
do not place leaves out earlier than November 10th.
Leaves should be placed in the street about 1 foot from the curb.
November 18-21: West
Half of Town (Main St. to West City Limits.) Please
do not place leaves out earlier than November 17th.
Leaves should be placed in the street about 1 foot from the curb.
November 25:
Main Street and West Platt Street.
For North and South Main Street, leaves should be
placed in the street about 1 foot from the curb. Please do not place
leaves out earlier than November 24.
For West Platt Street only, place all
leaves along the curb on the grass – not in the street. Public
Works employees will rake them from the curb into the street as the
sweeper follows behind.
Week of November 25:
Any missed leaves and areas where leaves may pose additional
problems with storm sewers will be picked up.
If leaves are placed in the street too far ahead
of these dates, they can cause traffic problems or clog storm water
intakes unnecessarily.
The Public Works Department is asking for your
cooperation to do the following on all streets throughout the
leaf-up program:
1.) No Cars are to be parked in streets to allow
for pick-up.
2.) Place leaves one foot from curb in street.
3.) Leaves only – no bags, limbs or other yard
waste.
