Activities
Maquoketa Community High School recognizes that students need to acquire diverse knowledge today to be successful tomorrow and that employers are concerned about the quality of education and training available in the public schools. Educators, therefore, are charged with providing opportunities for students to gain the skills necessary to be leaders and productive citizens. Active students not only acquire knowledge but also learn to accept responsibilities, exercise initiative, work with others, and assume leadership roles.

MCHS offers a variety of activities, many of which are an integral part of the school program. Open to all students, these range from athletic programs to student government to fine arts to options in special-interest areas.

Success in many areas has been demonstrated on the local level and has led to state, regional, and national recognition for students and programs.
