capacity of KWS is 23,050 at Plant #1. The plant is

Meter Reader, Dan Selzer reads all the meters,
electric and water, monthly throughout the City of
Maquoketa.
3,400 electric meters are read approximately:
Residential 2,833 / Commercial 585 meters.
2,505 water meters are read approximately: Residential
2,163 / Commercial 342 meters.

The Maquoketa Municipal Electric Utility (MMEU) greatest
assests are its two (2) power plants with black start capability.
Rapid return to service is made possible by its nine (9) engine /
generator sets at Plant 1, 4 engine / generator sets at Plant 2.

facility that is governed by a five person Board of Trustees.
Its mission is to provide low cost, reliable service to the
Maquoketa community.
