The community of Maquoketa offers many appealing

Maquoketa offers a "qualify of life" that would
compare favorably with all other communities you might consider.
A new recreation center (indoor swimming pool, indoor track, basketball
courts, racquetball courts) is in the planning stage, pedestrian/bicycle
trails have been built throughout the City with many additional
locations to be added in the near future, a new camping facility
at Horseshoe Pond is under construction, and a country club with
a nine hole golf course was built about 25 years ago. Two new housing
subdivisions will offer lots for new home construction with several
incentives being offered for new home construction. Three new elderly
housing projects will also open up several single family dwellings.
Additionally, the Maquoketa Community School District
is highly regarded for the educational system it offers and for
variety of programs that it has developed.
The new four-lane Highway 61 interchange is a few
hundred yards to the north and the south interchange for new four-lane
Highway 61 is approximately 2 miles to the south. The Quad Cities
and interstate interchange I-80 are 30 minutes to the South. Chicago
is 3 hours to the east, Dubuque is 30 miles to the north, Clinton
is 35 miles to the southeast, and Cedar Rapids is 1 hour to the
west.
