Economic Development Assistance

The Maquoketa Area Chamber of Commerce stimulates the entrepreneurial spirit and pro-business atmosphere of Jackson County by providing services for workforce development, small business, and overall promotion of Maquoketa as a great place to live, work and play. As the lead organization for economic development we are ready to assist companies interested in moving to the area or existing employers considering expansion.

Workforce Training

Maquoketa's offering of the New Jobs Training Program assists new and existing businesses who are creating new jobs in the area with flexible funding to meet a vast array of employment development and training needs. More

Enterprise Zone

The entire City of Maquoketa has been designated by the State of Iowa, Jackson County Board of Supervisors and the Jackson County Enterprise Zone Commission as an "Enterprise Zone" for both economic development and housing development.

With this city-wide designation, if the developer meets the minimum requirements and if the development is approved by the County Enterprise Zone Commission and the Iowa Dept of Economic Development prior to starting a project, incentives are available. More
