Water & Sewer

When the City pumps 267,000,000 gallons of groundwater in a given year, it has to go somewhere. The City is also allowed by State permit to process up to 350,000,000 gallons of wastewater per year. For more information on processing, please visit the Water & Wastewater page.

The City of Maquoketa owns the infrastructure supplying the City residents basic water and sewer service. The City employs a Utility Clerk to track, manage, and project billings for the City. This person works in the City Hall office at 201 E Pleasant St and is available at 563-652-2484. The Utility Clerk may also be emailed at utilityclerk@maquoketaia.com.

However, the operations for care and maintenance of the infrastructure is contracted to Alliance Water & Wastewater. Alliance employs a local manager, Jeff Bodenhoffer, and this person is available by contacting 563-652-4881 or jbodenhoffer@alliancewater.com.
